.The Oakland Black Cowboy Association hosted its 45th annual Oakland Black Cowboy parade and festival at DeFremery Park in Oakland, on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019.
The parade, led by horseback riders and marching members of Buffalo Soldiers of Seattle, quickly attracted scattered spectators along the route.

Followed by Oakland Military Institute students and its marching band, the parade made its way through West Oakland. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, wearing a cowboy hat, waved at spectators from a convertible followed by an array of new and classic cars. Other participants included Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Drill Team.

McClymonds High School, Oakland Girls Scouts, Royal Red Hat Divas Chapter of the Red Hat Society, Prescott Circus members, cowboys from San Jose, motorcyclists and scraper bikes were among the other participants in the parade with, of course, members of the Oakland Black Cowboy Association.
